Please Sit Down

A lot of people have been watching the destruction of Dorian in the Bahamas unfold. It's a sad sight to see homes leveled. You know that in those homes were photos, keepsakes, memories that are no longer. The loss of life is unspeakable. There was one area of Haitian nationals that tno longer exists.
It was described as a shantytown in which their homesteads didn't stand a chance against the storm.  However, in their loss is resilience and joy for being alive. They went through a storm but they came out victorious. They still had their lives and I have no doubt they are going to do what needs to be done to get back on their feet. That is my idea of bravery and perseverance.

My sympathy ended when the camera flashed to the tourist that could have gone home that described how devastated they are by what happened. My instant reaction is why are we interviewing these people. Did common sense not tell you to go home? Bravery is not riding out an unpredictable creation of nature. Nature is bigger than you!
It actually seems a bit foolish unless you dont have the means to leave. You purposely put yourself in harm's way and you expect what from us? I'll wait for this answer.
